This Refund Policy covers paid subscriptions to the Compaxis service. Paid plans are billed by Paddle.com Market Limited as Merchant of Record. Paddle's terms apply to the payment transaction; this policy describes the refund outcomes Compaxis Pty Ltd (ABN 75 698 385 456) commits to honour through Paddle. Read it together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. 14-day no-questions-asked refund
If you are not satisfied with your subscription for any reason, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your first paid charge. We refund the most recent payment in full, with no questions asked and no conditions on use.
The 14-day window:
- Starts from the date of your first paid charge.
- Applies once per customer — not per plan switch or renewal.
- Is available regardless of whether you have downloaded any model files or used any features during the period.
To request a refund, email from the address you used to buy, with your Paddle order ID (it's in your purchase email). Refunds are processed back to your original payment method by Paddle and typically appear within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.
2. What happens after a refund
Your Pro licence is deactivated and the Hub stops downloading Pro models for you. Any SQ4 GGUF you already downloaded remains a standard local file and will continue to work in third-party runtimes such as llama.cpp, Ollama, or LM Studio. The free Qwen 3 1.7B SQ4 model continues to work.
3. After the 14-day window
- You can cancel at any time. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current paid period; no further charges are made after cancellation.
- No pro-rated refunds for unused time on a period already paid, except in the cases set out in clause 4.
- You keep all model files you downloaded during the paid period.
4. Exception cases (refund outside the window)
We will refund outside the 14-day window in these cases:
4.1 Service unavailability. If the service is materially unavailable for more than 72 consecutive hours due to our fault, we will credit the affected days against your next billing period. If the outage extends beyond 7 days, we will refund the full current billing period on request.
4.2 Material breach. If we materially breach the Terms of Service and fail to cure the breach within 30 days of receiving written notice at , you may cancel and receive a pro-rated refund for the remainder of the current paid period.
4.3 Statutory rights. Where consumer-protection law gives you a statutory refund right that cannot be excluded by contract, that right takes precedence over this policy. This includes the Australian Consumer Law (non-excludable consumer guarantees), the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83) 14-day withdrawal right for distance contracts, and the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Our 14-day no-questions-asked window in clause 1 satisfies and exceeds these statutory rights.
5. How to cancel
- Sign in to your billing page.
- Click Manage subscription to open the Paddle Customer Portal.
- Select Cancel subscription. Paddle confirms the cancellation by email.
If you cannot reach the dashboard or the Paddle portal, email and we will cancel manually within one business day.
6. Chargebacks and disputes
If you initiate a chargeback through your bank or card issuer instead of requesting a refund through us:
- We may suspend your account pending resolution.
- If the chargeback is decided in your favour, we will not seek reversal; the account stays cancelled.
- If the chargeback is decided in our favour, your account may be permanently terminated and you may be barred from future subscriptions.
Please contact first — refunds under our 14-day policy are processed within 5–10 business days and avoid any service disruption.
7. Annual plans
Annual plans share the same 14-day no-questions-asked refund window in clause 1, measured from the first paid charge. After 14 days, annual plans are not refundable for unused months; cancellation prevents the next annual renewal but does not recover the current annual fee. To downgrade from annual to monthly mid-cycle, contact — we will evaluate case-by-case and may credit the unused annual remainder against the new monthly subscription.
8. Free tier
Compaxis offers a permanently free tier — the Compaxis Hub plus the Qwen 3 1.7B SQ4 model — at no charge. There is no time-limited trial and no payment is taken for the free tier, so no refund applies to it. To access the larger SQ4 models and Long-Reach variants, upgrade to a paid plan; the 14-day refund in clause 1 then applies, measured from your first paid charge.
Promotional discounts and credits are not redeemable for cash and do not refund as cash.
9. Changes to this policy
Material changes are announced via in-product notice and email at least 30 days before they take effect. Changes apply prospectively — existing subscriptions retain the refund terms in effect when they were purchased.
